
Anne Reoch (nee Duthie)
Cardiac and Stroke Clinical Lead
Since joining the SCT in 2007, Anne’s main focus has been the Scottish Telestroke Programme, working in collaboration with the Stroke National Advisory Committee and Stroke Managed Clinical Networks. The main aim of the Programme is to improve access to acute stroke thrombolysis. Anne led the overarching facilitation Programme and in 2009 Scottish Government recommended that this became nationally available for all relevant Health Boards, unable to provide and sustain face to face 24/7 acute stroke thrombolysis services (NB the Telestroke page provides more information and the latest updates).
Anne managed the Telestroke TIA project, which won the Scottish Health Award for Improvement and Innovation in November 2008 and has more recently been working with stroke managed clinical networks and rehabilitation teams to explore and develop telestroke rehabilitation in both acute and community hospitals and in the patient’s home setting.
Anne is now heading up the SCTT Cardiac and Stroke Programme, working with Health Boards across Scotland to identify and develop telehealth solutions for service innovation and improvement across all cardiovascular patient pathways. This work involves Stroke and Cardiac National Advisory Committees, regional planning groups, voluntary sector, territorial and special Health Boards, Local Authorities, operational teams and patients and public.
Anne qualified as a general nurse and a district nurse in Grampian, working in Bedfordshire and Tayside before joining the SCTT. She specialised in cardiovascular disease prevention and management - which included strategic risk prevention at national level and as a degree level tutor for Glasgow University.
