Champions Network

Telehealth Champions want to see better and more sustainable implementation of telehealth on a regional and national scale, advancing the knowledge base and practice of using telehealth & exploiting resources that can be shared.

The SCT is supporting the establishment of a Telehealth Champions Network. The first meeting is in April 2010. The Telehealth Champions Network will aim to bring together people from clinical, project management, IT, research, education, voluntary sector, and policy backgrounds. The format of the meetings will be to discuss the topic, highlight best practice (as we know it), debate challenges, share experience and identify gaps and actions to progress care using telehealth services.

The Network will meet 3- 4 times per year, with the agenda and discussion topics driven by the members of the network and followed up with outputs on our website and email communication between meetings.

The aims of the Network include:
•     using the SCT website as the focus for an up to date resource pool.  One of the first steps of the Telehealth Champions Network will be to develop this resource;
•     representation from all regions and disciplines in the network;
•     raising awareness of the potential of telehealth across health policy development;
•     participation by Champions in relevant national collaborative and steering groups.
