Telehealth Reviews
A significant part of the day to day work of the Scottish Centre for Telehealth is engagement with individuals and organisations who are implementing telehealth services. We bring our experience and advice about best practice approaches to the engagement process.
We recognise that one of the challenges of developing sustainable telehealth services is to make sure all the stakeholders, whether they are from health professions, technical, patient, policy or managerial perspectives have a voice during discussions around new service developments.
Another challenge of engagement is to produce information which advances the use of telehealth for those currently 'doing' telehealth and for those interested in how it might work in their discipline. Reviews commissioned by the SCT and undertaken by clinicians are now being made available on the SCT website. These reviews represent a snapshot of the practice and potential of telehealth in specific areas and also raise questions for discussion by the wider community of practitioners.
The reviews are:
- COPD in Scotland: the possible roles for telehealth, and
- Mental Health and Telehealth
- Potential application of Telerehabilitation to adult rehabilitation services in Scotland
- Scoping, mapping and assessment of the use of Telehealth within Palliative care in Scotland
The reviews will be circulated to all stakeholders. To access the reports online, please click on the links above.
The SCT is keen to support continuous and varied ways of engaging with all our stakeholders. Sustainable telehealth requires all stakeholders to understand and recognise the benefits and challenges of introducing telehealth services.
