Telestroke - Communications

Presentations of Scotland’s telestroke developments have been given by the SCTT at various conferences and meetings throughout each stage of the Programme, with the aim of keeping professionals, patients and public up to date and involved in the developments.

Mr Jim Ferguson, Anne Reoch and Hazel Archer at BBC Radio 4A Chest Heart and Stroke (CHSS) published patient booklet on thrombolysis was written by the Stroke MCN team in NHS Lanarkshire and contains a section on acute telemedicine consultations for thrombolysis decision support provided by the SCTT. This is available in all hospitals delivering acute stroke care and also from all CHSS shops and through their website.

Recent Conference Presentations

  • October 2011 - Anne Reoch presented Scottish Telestroke developments at the NIMAST stroke improvement event in Belfast.
  • The SCTT/Scottish Telestroke Programme had a stand at the UK Stroke Forum again this year. Colleagues from NHS Inform shared the stand.
  • Therese Jackson, Consultant AHP in Stroke Care, presented the Telestroke rehabilitation service for goal setting in NHS Grampian, on the first day of the UKSF Anne Reoch chaired a telehealth training session on the second day of the UKSF
  • Telestroke Services have been highlighted by Health Boards during their FAST campaigns throughout 2011 and 2012.

FAST CHSS & Stroke Association pages - The Scottish Telestroke Programme was shortlisted for the ehi awards (eHealth Insider) in 2011.
